The IT Specialist Diploma curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for employment with organizations that use computers to process, manage, and communicate information. This is a flexible program with elective courses, designed to meet the needs of information systems in business environment. The IT Specialist Diploma program teaches students the essential skills required to effectively use and troubleshoot computers, networks and computer applications. Diploma program students can develop an emphasis in: - Computer Applications to develop the skills required effectively use the essential applications found in nearly all job environments.
- Web Technologies to develop foundation level skills in website development and maintenance.
Graduates will become qualified candidates to enter the labor force as an IT Specialist and will develop Technical Skills in the areas of Programming, Web Development, and Database. Students will be able to take two courses in their area of interest from elective courses listed below. Graduates will be able to implement, support, and troubleshoot computers networks and information technology systems. Graduates should qualify for a wide variety of computer-related, entry-level positions. Duties may include systems maintenance, support and training, and business applications design and implementation. Length of Program : 2 Semesters Graduation Award : Diploma Diploma Requirement : Total of 24 credits are required to meet the graduation requirements.
