Computer programming is one of the fastest growing occupations in the United States . The Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks it in its top five lists of fastest growing positions. A recent survey by the Information Technology Association of America estimated that 10% of the Information Technology jobs nationwide are unfilled. This means there is a high demand for professionals with these skills.

With the computer programmer diploma, students can greatly increase their skills and knowledge in one year. The computer programmer diploma makes students stand out to potential employers seeking computer programmers and application developers. Graduates will be proficient at object oriented programming, web development and design and development of database systems.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMER DIPLOMA
The Computer Programmer program is designed to provide student with essential computer programming skills to meet the IT needs of today's business environment. Students will gain familiarity with various types of current hardware and software technology, as well as the procedures and applications of existing system. This two semester diploma prepares the student to enter the workforce as a computer programmer. Success in computer programmer diploma program is dependent on such qualities as attentiveness, logical reasoning skills, attention to detail, and production orientation.

Graduates will learn how to program computers using a variety of programming languages including C/ C++ and Java. Graduates will also learn fundamentals of database, computer architecture and networking.

The use of stand-alone and networked computers is rapidly increasing in all levels of government and in businesses such as accounting firms, software houses, manufacturing firms, computer service centers, banks, and hospitals. Employment potential is outstanding for computer programmer diploma graduates.

Occupational Titles Available After Graduation: Software Engineer, Computer Programmer, Programmer-Analyst, System Programmer, System Analyst and Technical Support Specialist.
Length of Program: 2 Semesters
Graduation Award: Diploma
Diploma Requirement: For all 2-semester long programs a total of 24 credits are required to graduate successfully with a minimum CGPA of 2.0.
