All over the world organizations have demanded greater use of newer technologies in recent years to stay competitive. Over the next decade, computer and information systems related occupations are likely to expand at a rate faster than most other occupations and our goal is to have our students to get ready for this competitive job market.

As you explore the information about our department’s programs and curriculum, you will discover a strong, diverse, and student-oriented department.

By far the greatest strength of our department is its faculty. Classes are taught by talented, experienced, dedicated, and caring faculty who believe in individualized attention for their students. CPD lecture classes are taught by faculty, not graduate teaching assistants.

Students are important! Each semester student satisfaction surveys have been conducted to improve the education with respect to the student’s expectations and need.

Our department provides small class size. Students gain self-confidence through small classes and individualized attention. Students will find themselves in comfortable class settings with the maximum class size being only 30 students in undergrad and 25 students in graduate level. The small classes give the instructors the time needed to assist each student. Students can actively participate in class discussions without feeling overwhelmed by large lecture halls.

The atmosphere within our department is bracing: there is a strong sense of community and intellectual vigor. This is a wonderfully exciting time for us, and it is a great department in which to reach one's full potential.
